Stop - No matter how small the accident. |
| 2. |
Care for the injured. Send for an ambulance and the
Police. |
| 3. |
Remove all hazards from the road. |
| 4. |
Warn all traffic, oncoming and behind you, with flares and hazard
signs. |
| 5. |
Write down the other driver's name, address, and phone number, license
number, and the date, time, and location of the accident. Consider also making a
sketch. You do not want to trust your memory under strained conditions. |

Exchange insurance information with the other driver. |
| 7. |
Secure and list the names of all witnesses. |
| 8. |
If you have a camera available take pictures of your car and the other
car(s) involved in the accident. |
| 9. |
Record only the facts about the accident, not opinions. |
| 10. |
Do not make any verbal statements or sign any statement except in response
to a request from a Police Officer. Get the name and badge number of any officers
on the scene. |
| 11. |
Secure all your valuables in and out of your vehicle. Lock your
vehicle doors if possible. |
| 12. |
If your vehicle can not be driven safely, have it towed to your collision
repair center. |
| 13. |
Notify your insurance agent immediately. |
